ABOUT ME

Elizabeth Auriol Peers is an award-winning silversmith who makes distinctive, tactile and feminine silverware that is functional yet subtly sculptural. Her pieces echo the shapes of the human body – the folds, curves and varying textures of our skin are reflected in each piece of work, using methods such as hand-raising and chasing.

As well as drawing inspiration from the skin and scarring, she explores how fabric undulates, moves and folds on top of our bodies, both revealing and concealing our form beneath. This allows her to give the silver’s surface continuous movement and a flow of changing textures. These are applied with different techniques, hammers and formers often made by herself. Each piece is a one off, yet it is part of a larger family.
